  i was just reading the post of ldh on that thread about "class" warfare.

  it made me think of something because she mentioned "socialism".

  way back when (60s & 70s) this was a very common objection out in the field service.

  Growing up I was not allowed to get a higher education so I could eventually make the better money. Then was pushed into a JW marriage so I had no choice but to take a shift working job to support my family. Maybe if they would have allowed me to get that higher education I would have got a better paying job that wouldn't have been shift work. The society wants it both ways.

  i know that many of you have the information discussing the watchtower's view on this and why so many thought it was going to be the beginning of armageddon and the mass exodus from the org when nothing happened.

  i remember it very well and my mom telling me not to get my hopes up because she had been looking for the ancient worthies to appear for years at the assemblies and that never happened.

  then they changed their prophesy on that too!!!

  I was there and grew up in the pre 1975 jdub's. The hype was real and the WT was careful enough to cover their butts when it all blew up in their faces. It was just a ploy to bring in new converts and more $$$. I recall studying with a in the late 60's and early 70's. I was told that I would not graduate high school in this "system of things". We were all encouraged to drop out of school and work cleaning windows, sweeping floors or cleaning toilets and go into the full time preaching work as the time was so short.

  BB I speak from personal experience, so unless you lived those times don't waste mine or anyone else's time on here justifying all the WT lies.

  I saw it also with a theater full of wacko Evangelists . They were crying and wailing in the aisles. After which one of them said to me "I should be upset because that was our savior" and I offended him by saying that it was his opinion not mine. I thought it was well done movie but unnecessary gore but it seems most Christians love their gore.
